The Girl In The Memory Lane

As she lay there listening to the quiet of  the night,
Her mind wondered to the Memory Lane.
Visions of  chaos quickly filled her mind,
Along with the echoes of abundant screaming.

The chaos was pulling her in every direction,
And found herself  lost on her own reflection.
There, she stared at herself all tall and grown,
In a body deprived of  her own personalities.

By now, her memories are halfway in its track...
Refusing to stop even when she cried out with a big sigh.
She looked ahead and dig deeper
She got herself through and saw what was there.

There on the step of stairs, sits a little girl
Hiding beside a wall that protects her
The pain is freshly marked on her body
Tortured by a soul who is blinded by its own shadow.

Came down the stairs were a concerned  man...
Who turned to the little girl and said:
"My heart goes out to you, young one...moving away maybe the best thing for you."
The pains of  her broken heart lingered as she continued to cry....
Instinctively carved the man's words into her fragile mind.

She felt the stabbed spirit of the little girl,
Then saw the little girl prayed for the lost soul
And the little girl continued by asking HIM
to carry her.....through the burden of unimaginable pain.

As she lay there staring at the darkness of  the room,
The chaos in her mind slowly subsides...
She closed her eyes and stepped out of the Memory Lane...
But not without taking the Little Girl with her.

Journally yours,
Gem :-)

Such vivid memories of pain Gem.  An absolutely intimate look at your life.  But hopeful too.

I think most of us can relate to these words in one way or another.  Beautifully said.

As long as you acknowledge your past, and not run away from it, the healing process can begin.  That little girl will always be with you.  Take care, and thanks for sharing---  Julie

I felt your pain as I read this.  I could relate to some degree.  Same pain, different events.  But in recognizing what hurt us, and dealing with it, we only go forwards.  Thanks for sharing this.  By the way, you are a good writer.
